| Inkstarzz.com had a chance to catch up with the Dipset/Skull Gang homie, Juelz Santana and talk about everything from the industry, women and even Twitter. So roll with Inkstarzz.com as we take a flight with Harlem's own Juelz Santana... Inkstarzz.com: So what's good? How's everything going? Juelz Santana: What's up, what's up, what's up. Aint s#!t, chillin, grindin baby, grindin hard. Inkstarzz.com: What are your thoughts on how things are going in the industryright now? Juelz Santana: The industry has definitely changed a lot but, you know, that's how the game is. It's always gon change, you just gotta learn how to adapt, continue to put out good music, and swag it out for the fans and let 'em know who you are. Unless you just aint nobody (laughs). A lot of people are no longer sacrificing what they have and what they believe in when they come to these labels. They lookin for that one record and that one record is not really taking artists to the top. Inkstarzz.com: So what do you feel they should be looking for? Juelz Santana: I feel like you gotta look for an artist that has that potential that may not have that one record. But when he gets that one record, people gon love him more than they loved that person that may have that one record at the time. Besides that, it's good, I feel like as far as me having a great space, I have my lil business deal that I was in. It was a bad lil business deal, but now I got my "Skull Gang" movement poppin. It's still Dipset for life. I'm in a 50/50 joint venture with what is probably still one of the best labels in the game right now which is Def Jam. L.A. Reid and the whole crew is behind my project so I'm just laying the ground work right now. I don't believe in just droppin a single and droppin and album. I gotta try to give the people more than that. Inkstarzz.com: So which is coming first, your solo project or the "Skull Gang" project? Juelz Santana: I got the Skull Gang project. We doing a compilation album on Koch. We're using that as a platform to introduce the world to my artists. I've been doing a lot on my own. It's an album and a platform for the people that don't know us and at the same time to let the people who know us to see us. We been on the internet and we been a lot of places and a lot of people don't know who these artists are that I'm bringing. So with the CD you get to see who they are and at the same time , I'm involved with the project 100%. I'm on damn near every record. I'm bout to start my solo mixtape which is called "The Reagan Era". It's gon be like an album. It's going down in late April. It's gon be classic. I'm also gearing up for my solo album, which is coming out soon, like the middle of the summer. It's called "Born to Lose, Built to win". Inkstarzz.com: If we were to do a poll right now, most people would want to know about the Cam'ron- Dipset issue, but I want to know something different. One of the places that yall are pushing is the internet. I want to know, is that really you on Twitter? Juelz Santana: Yeah, that's me. I go straight from my phone sometimes. I'm in the studio so much, I might just go on the computer and just write it. But, yeah that's definitely me on the twitter. That's me, Juelz. I gotta start replying. I haven't been replying to nobody, but it's definitely me when it comes to just coming up and giving a daily rundown of the little things I'm doin. Sometimes I forget, so there might be a little gap in between it for a lil while. I'm on it, I'm on it. Inkstarzz.com: Oh, ok. I was just asking because I’m a Tweet-a-holic! (Laughs) Juelz Santana: (Laughs)Actually, I'm just now about to be the one controlling my MySpace. To all my fans, I really want yall to start blowin up my MySpace now because I'm about to start controlling it. Before, I wasn't too much on the MySpace as I should've been. So now I'm gonna be effectively gon be on that real heavy. I'm building the Skull Gang website and another website called "I am the club". It's gon be like a party website. Inkstarzz.com: I know you travel a lot. Name 2 things you can't be on the road without. Juelz Santana: My weed! My weed! My weed! Definitely that and some dutches I guess. Weed and dutches. All I can smoke is dutches and you know, when you go out of town, everybody don't be having them dutches like that. Inkstarzz.com:(Laughs) what are some cities, states or countries that you’ve seen some of the most beautiful women in so far? Juelz Santana: Aw man, It's a couple of different ones. Houston got some beautiful women. Atlanta, St. Louis,… man it’s a lot of different places, I don’t even wanna start.. I still aint been to Brazil yet. I heard Brazil got it. Inkstarzz.com: Is the fame what you thought it would be? Juelz Santana: I aint gon say it's not what I thought it would be. It's definitely a lot more to it than people think, I will say that. A lot that goes with being famous that some people can't deal with. Inkstarzz.com: I know , well at least I heard about it (laughs). What's up with Juelz Santana the actor? Juelz Santana: I did a movie a couple years ago called "The Project" that showed my acting skills. I actually just saw it for the first time about a month and a half ago. I definitely like the performance I put in. It's a different kind of movie. That's why I don't think they really promoted it. It was like a movie on people doing a documentary so it's shot real different but it actually came out real good. It's called "The Project". You can go check it out. Music is my everything so I want everything to flow from the music and I feel like I've been away with putting out my music the way I want it put out . I've been putting out music here and there. People still definitely anticipating and know what it is. But at the end of the day the way I wanted to do it, I aint been able to do it. I'm definitely gon jump into the movies and all that, but it's really about covering the music route first. The acting, look forward to that . That’s coming soon. I'm on that. I'm just tryna expand and do what I can whether it's acting or even the X Games. Inkstarzz.com: Did you have a guest appearance in the Karrine Steffans book? Juelz Santana: Naw, not that I know of. I heard she said some s#!t about me, but not that I know of. Imma keep it funky. Inkstarzz.com: What is one word you would use to describe your flow? Juelz Santana: Immaculate Inkstarzz.com: Do you ever pay any attention to gossip sites or the blogger sites? What are your feelings about them? Juelz Santana: I did that already. I don't really like commenting because, you know, them s#!ts just get blown out of proportion. Bottom line is, you know I got a new sound motto. This is my comment- if that's what you wanna do, do it. At the end of the day, people know what it is. At the end of the day, if that's what you feel like floats your boat, to sit behind the computer and give off negative energy.... but then you can't really get mad because just as much as people give off negative energy, you love it when people give off good energy. So it's like a newfound respect. Do what you wanna do, if that's what you wanna do. Like I always say, haters fuel my fire. I'm from Harlem and that means just as much as being fly and everything, people hate on you too. That goes for everywhere. You gotta learn how to deal with the haters. I feel like in a sense as far as, not just the gossip, but as far as a lot of the beef, I feel like sometimes the people are promoting some of these things they're promoting. Not even the hate cus people always gon hate. I feel like the internet got real carried away with a lot of the situations that they exploit on the internet. It's kinda dangerous to promote these things when people get into these situations. When you write it, it's public domain but, if a person gets slapped on the low he might not do nothing about it. It's like "I can walk away" but if you slap a person and now you put it out in the world, he's even more geared up to go do something. People just looking at it like "Oh, I'm just filling my website up". I wish everybody would just use their common sense and try to put the shoe on the other foot. If it was them and when somebody doing the same thing to them, would they put it up the same way? Would they promote it the same way? That's all I mean for the sites that promote the real bulls#!t, but as far as gossip, people need to know what's going on in the world. This is the life we chose and we have to accept some things. Everything can't be private, but some things definitely should be. Inkstarzz.com: Yeah I talked to one of the people from another magazine and I told them that I thought celebrities should at least get three days off. Like, give 'em a weekend with no gossip or rumors. Juelz Santana: (Laughs) just as much as you exploit the bad, exploit the good like when somebody just got good music out. They are quick to promote like.... it's like you get in a magazine faster talking [bad]. It's like if I wanted to say f%&k a couple n!&&as, I know I'll be on the front cover of a couple magazines with "Oh, Juelz just said f%&k [______]". Right now if I just say " Yo, f%&k this n!&&a" right now to you, and you put that out, do you know how many more interviews is gon come to me? Inkstarzz.com: Yeah I feel you on that Juelz Santana: It's just crazy. Inkstarzz.com: Do you have any upcoming projects? Juelz Santana: Yeah man. Just stay tuned. Juelz Santana. I'm bout to do the damn thing. We bout to kill 'em. I'm bout to take over. It's going down, just stay tuned. We got a lot going on. I got "The Reagan Era", my solo mixtape coming out late April along with "The Takeover 2", Skull Gang mixtape. We dropping a compilation album in May and I'm probably gonna drop another mixtape, that "Born to Lose , Built to Win" which is that big bang. It's gon be the biggest album of the year. Get ready. Stay tuned. I'm back. I'm on n!&&as A$$. I'm on n!&&as heels. I'm atcha neck like a bow tie. Fly up or get flown over. We in the sky already, ya heard?!
