D.A.B.

Introduced to the world by VH1's "Miss Rap Supreme", the artist
known as D.A.B. is preparing to take the industry by storm. With
her unique flow and fresh delivery, she is destined to end up on
Ipods, radio stations and ring tones all across the world. Roll with
Inkstarzz as we step into the world of D.A.B.

Inkstarzz.com: So what’s up? How are you?

D.A.B.:
I'm doing good.

Inkstarzz.com: So what does D.A.B. stand for?

D.A.B.:
Just a down a$$ b!%#h. Ya know I picked it when I heard Tupac.
He was like "cus she’s a down a$$ b!%#h (laughs). I was thinking "alright,
I'll just be that".

Inkstarzz.com: (Laughs) so, how did you get into the rapping thing?

D.A.B.:
Well it started when I was younger. I used to always write little poems and stuff when I was aggravated and
things like that. Then I finally had enough cash and I bought a little beat box. I just decided that's what I wanted to be.

Inkstarzz.com: Do you feel that female artists have as much opportunity as male artists to get in the
industry?

D.A.B.:
Actually, I think right now females are pretty much equal to men in every single way that you look at it. It might
be a little easier for females right now because everyone realizes right now that we need another female to break
through, ya know. Lil Kim and Foxy and all them, they had their run and its time for another female rap artist to come
out.

Inkstarzz.com: A lot of people know you from VH1's "Miss Rap Supreme". How was the experience for
you?

D.A.B.:
Being on the show gave me the exposure that I needed for my name to get out there to create a buzz with the
right people. As far as VH1, they kinda just throw you in there and just kick you out, you know. I still talk to most of the
girls right now. We’re all real cool. I didn't like how me and Nicky2states had one fight and they made it look like it was
every second of the day. We're still really cool right now. We talk a lot.

Inkstarzz.com: Are you considering doing any music with any of the ladies?

D.A.B.:
Me and Chiba talked about stuff like that when we had to do that Pepsi© Smash the Mic in New York. I talked
to her about that. We'll probably do a track eventually together. Right now everyone's just trying to do their own thing.

Inkstarzz.com: Would you ever consider doing reality TV again?

D.A.B.:
Yeah, I wanna do a show where it can just show me. Give me like a shot at love or something (Laughs)!
Somewhere I can have a good time, no pressure. I could let America see the other side of me.

Inkstarzz.com: Have you ever gotten into producing
or any kind of production?

D.A.B.:
Yeah actually I’m starting to get into it. I had built my own
studio but I got into drugs, so of course I pawned all of it off. But I know what to do. Anytime I got into a studio now, I
basically just try and take over. We work together and I definitely add some to that. Soon I wanna have my own studio.

Inkstarzz.com: You have said that you battled with drugs in the past and your story is kind of inspirational.
Do you have any advice for other people who may be having those problems that want to do what you are
doing now?

D.A.B.:
Basically, that you're gonna have people constantly bringing you down. They don't care. Everyone wants to
hurt you. You can't listen to anyone but you. I came from rock bottom. I pawned everything I owned doing dope
everyday. I've been clean for a long time now and I put it into my music writing real, real stories. If you want something
bad enough and give it all you got, you can accomplish anything.

Inkstarzz.com: Is there one artist or producer that you would love to work with?

D.A.B.:
Yeah there's a couple in that spot. I love Salt 'N' Peppa. If I could do a track with them, I would die! Eminem, I
love him too. I mean if [Tu]Pac was still alive, you know I gotta have Pac in it.

Inkstarzz.com: Tupac fan?

D.A.B.:
Yeah (laughs).

Inkstarzz.com: What is one word that you would use to describe your
flow?

D.A.B.:
That's a good question. I never thought about that before. Um, I guess
one word would be.....real. I've learned actually a lot since the show. All them
other girls have been doing it for a long time. I'm at that point now after only
a year
of rapping. I’ve worked so much on the new CD that's coming out. I'm excited
to get some new stuff out.

Inkstarzz.com: So you had only been rapping a year before the show?

D.A.B.:
Yes. I mean I knew I wanted to do it when I was 18 but you don't do it
to much when you high so I only wrote like one song in four years. As soon as I
got clean, that's when I finally took off. It was like, now I can do something where I can help other people and then
what I went through happened for a reason.

Inkstarzz.com: That's cool. So what can we expect from you in the future?

D.A.B.:
Definitely a number one hit. That's for sure. I wanna be at the MTV awards. Other than that, I wanna be a
voice for everyone else and I wanna open up a place called "Second Chances". I go around and talk to people in
detox and  jails and stuff like that already. I wanna make music and give a positive message. Like instead talking
about rehab like it's the cool thing to do, I wanna do the opposite.

Inkstarzz.com: That's a good look. Do you have any website info that you want to leave for your fans?

D.A.B.:
Yes, it's myspace.com/downazz.

Inkstarzz.com: Thanks for the interview
